Bring A Bear Day
Paws for thought about your bear sitting at home alone and bored all day. Wouldn’t you like to give your bear a day to remember?
During Children's Heart Week 2010 everyone was encouraged to "Bring a Bear" to work or school in support of the Children's Heart Federation. This campaign raised plenty of awareness and a great deal of money for the UK's leading children's heart charity.
Our "Bring a Bear" days during Children's Heart Week were so successful that we have decided to incorporate this event into our community fundraising guide.
If you are looking for a fun, inexpensive way to support children with heart conditions, you could hold your own "Bring a Bear" day at any time of the year by following the instructions below and using our "Bring a Bear" resources.
You can get a little inspiration by viewing our "Bring a Bear" Gallery.
Teddy Bears are ever so popular as warm fuzzy bearers of love and security. "Bring a Bear" to Work/School Day celebrates their purpose of spreading love, comfort and good cheer and will help to raise awareness of the Children's Heart Federation.
Ideas:
1. Agree a "Bring a Bear" date with your bosses, colleagues or teachers.
2. Print out some of our "Bring a Bear" Day posters. You can download either A4 or A3 sized posters for your school or workplace
3. Take your bear to school/work and place it on your desk. Print a copy of our certificate to explain why your bear is at work.
4. Arrange to have lunch with as many people as possible work colleagues, friends or family. If the weather is good you could dine alfresco in the same style as the CHF National Teddy Bear's Picnic. You could also eat sandwiches around your desk, take lunch in the canteen or visit a local restaurant.
5. Ask everyone to make donation to the Children’s Heart Federation for the privilege of "Bringing a Bear" to work. You will need to recruit one person to collect and send the money.
6. Take photographs of you with your bear at school/work and send them into us using the form below. We may even award a prize to the organisation or school which gets the most bears and owners together or sends us funkiest and most unique bear at school or work image.
7. Send this information to everyone you know. Children and Adults can make a big difference to the life of a heart child by taking part in this fun event.
