Information Service
We help thousands of families a year cope with congenital heart disease (CHD) by providing advice and information by telephone, e-mail and through our website. During 2009/10, over 5000 people a month were visiting our website, four out of five of whom were new contacts.
We provide information, advice and support on a range of different issues including:
- Most common heart conditions and treatments
- Performance of heart surgery centres in the UK
- Diagnosis, equipment and medicines
- Lifestyle issues affecting heart children, e.g. school and special educational needs, benefits, feeding, etc.
- Advice on general issues such as communicating with medical professionals and how to get a second opinion
- Contact with relevant member groups and other support organisations
- Contact with other parents and families.
Telephone
Calls to the Infoline are free on 0808 808 5000. If no one is available to take your call, it will go through to an answerphone where you can leave a message. We undertake to return all calls within five working days.

Charges for factsheets
We do not currently charge for our factsheets. However, it costs money to update them and also to send them out to people who do not have access to the internet. If you have found the information helpful, please could you make a donation towards the cost of the information service? Thank you.
