Each year, on the first Wednesday in December, CIBC World Markets employees and clients participate in a major fund raising effort on behalf of children's charities throughout the world. The fund raising campaign is known as Miracle Day. The CIBC Children’s Foundation supports UK and European registered charities that are dedicated to the health, welfare and education of children. Examples include children’s hospitals, counselling services and special programmes for ‘at-risk’ children. After a comprehensive search and rigorous selection process, The Children's Heart Federation was selected as one of the CIBC Children's Foundation charities of the year 2009-2010. In addition to a generous donation from Miracle Day 2009, CIBC have also been heavily involved with the organisation of a number of events to help raise the profile of CHF and supplement the money raised on Miracle Day. These events have included;
CHF will also be present at a CIBC organised dinner and dance in central London on March 12th 2010. Music for this event will be provided by The Covernotes. The CIBC World Markets Children's Foundation was established in 1984 to raise funds for children's charities around the world. Globally, it has donated in excess of £94 million to raise the quality of life of thousands of children whose lives are affected by disability, illness, social deprivation or life-limiting conditions.
